Lucille May Ralph, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Lakeway. She was born on September 13, 1922 in Walworth County, Wisconsin to Victor and Marjorie Burton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William F. Ralph and by her sisters, Ruth Butterworth and Dorothy Coughlin. Lucille is survived by her three children, twin sons, Paul William Ralph and wife, Paulette and Peter Victor Ralph and wife, Patricia, and her daughter, Carolyn Ralph Loran. Lucille had 5 grandchildren: Lisa Thomason and husband Tracy; Greg Ralph and wife Simone; David Ralph; Jason Ralph and wife Shannon; and Jennifer Ervin and husband Rob; and five great-grandchildren.

In 1950, Bill and Lucille decided to move from Chicago Illinois to Mountain Home, Arkansas. Lucille, who had unlimited foresight and optimism, decided the family would take on a new enterprise of raising strawberries on their newly acquired 10 acre farm. The berries would then be sold from a roadside stand. In order to support the agricultural enterprise, Bill went to the nearby Brown & Root project at Bull Shoals Dam to find a job. There the project manager decided that Bill might make an excellent accountant. This career choice foreshadowed the beginning of Ralph and Ralph, CPAs, a family firm still operating successfully in Houston.

Lucille worked as a bookkeeper in the newly formed accounting firm for several years and enrolled at the University of Houston with the intention of getting a degree in accounting. While at the university she became involved in the drama department and was so taken with her new interest that she changed her major and went on to receive a degree in Theatre Arts. After acting and directing with several small theatre groups, Lucille was the driving force in the formation of Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston where she served as Executive Director.

After retiring, Lucille and Bill lived several years in Galveston before moving to Lakeway in 1993.

Lucille Ralph was a member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church.

A Celebration of Lucille's Life will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 3, 2015 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home followed by a Reception.
